Historians Trained In the Palace Of Timur And Their Opinions About Timur
In the XV century, Timur established a great Turkish state with a
capital in Samarkand due to his strong policy
and high capacity, and he extended his sphere of power from Khorasan to Baghdad , from Istanbul to
Crimea, Moscow and to the shores of France and in
the last days of his life, he finally went towards the Chinese wall. Timur had
often changed his sides to achieve his goal, and he could manage and succeed
the policy game. He attached importance
to the palace life on contrary to the traditional nomadic life, and made Samarkand, the capital city, into a
paradise of the world with its unique architectural works, decorated the palace
with science, wisdom and civilization, and transferred some wises, scholars and
historian from territories conquered to his palace.
His famous historians who grew up in his palace were brought from
Samarkand at young ages as follows; İbni
Arabshah from Damascus, Nizameddin-i Shami from Baghdad and Mawlana Sharafeddin
Ali Yazdi from Yezd region of Iran, and they were introduced to wise and famous
scholars. When famous historian Ibni Arabshah, who grew up in the palace of
Timur, came from Samarkand to the Ottoman lands and then returned to his land
and met there as a stranger, he
castigated Timur by writing his work "Ajaibu'l-Maqdur Fî Nawâib-I Timur"
Unlike İbni Arabşâh, Nizameddin-i Shami and Sharafeddin-i Ali Yazdi, two other
famous historians, who grew up in his palace, wrote Zafernâma and praise Timur and his
activities to the skies.
