Struggle for Domination in Khorasan (821-1005)
Tâhirid, who ruled the Nîşâbur centered Khorasan for more than a century, founders Tahir b. They lived their golden age during the Hussein period. Then Khorasan, in 257/870 Ya'kûb b. Under the leadership of Leys, it came under the rule of the Saffari. He reached the pinnacle of power by strengthening his smart and dynasty materially and spiritually. It even became a threat to the Abbasid caliphs. However, on 287 / March 900, he was defeated by Ismail b Ahmed, who was supported by the Abbasids and captured. As a result of this, Saffârîs started to lose their dominance in Khorasan. Except for Sîstan, most of Khorasan was captured by the Sâmânîs and they left the administration of the region to Simcûr ed-Devâtî. The Simcûrîs of Turkish origin, who got stronger day by day within the Sâmâni State, tried to establish an independent principality in Khorasan. For this purpose, they formed an alliance with Buwayhis and Karakhanids, especially the opposing Sâmâni army orders against the Sâmânis.
